Rangeville Training Centre Program…
Nature of Training.
The Rangeville Training Centre (RTC) was established in 2005 by the Rangeville Community Church (ABN 121 0736 8570). It is a Learning Centre within the Australian College of Ministries (ACOM) training network (RTO #90965). This allows RTC to teach the subjects students need for a Certificate IV in Christian Ministry (30268QLD), a nationally recognized industry award. All this teaching is “Competency Based”, meaning a hands-on approach that targets specific practical skills and understandings. Allowance can be made for “prior learning”
In school terms 1 and 2 of 2008, RTC will also run ‘Discipleship’ short courses for personal interest and development.

Now before you think…”I can’t do that.” Remember that you have many years to complete the 10 competencies in the Certificate IV course. And learning can be fun!
RTC does not use the traditional ‘chalk and talk’ approach to teaching. Instead it uses an adult-learning approach where learning is enhanced by students readily sharing their personal views and experiences.
Location
All classes will be held in the Meeting Room at the Church Office, 22 Lovett Street.
Fees
Enrolment fees cover printing, administration and registration costs for the ACOM accredited subjects. Short courses, which are not Certificate IV subjects, will incur lower fees.
Fees need to be paid with a completed enrolment form on or soon after the first night of training. Enrolment forms can be obtained from the church office or requested by E-mail.
Quality Teaching
Competency-based training requires teachers to have special qualifications. This requirement is met by team-teaching where a teacher with special knowledge teams-up with a teacher who has the special qualifications. Together they will prepare, present and assess each ACOM subject.
All trainers and assessors in 2008 will be volunteers who are closely associated with the Rangeville Community Church.
